John
Williams In 1972 John Williams composed the score for this little film by Martin Ritt, featuring Carol Burnett and Walter Matthau as an improbable love couple. The score is very short and is based around a single theme. No score album has ever been released but the tune was adapted into the song "Love's The Only Game In Town" with lyrics by Academy Award winners Alan and Marilyn Bergman. There are two recordings by the stars of the movie. The Walter Matthau release was a 7" single (on MCA Records), featuring an instrumental version of the theme arranged by Al Capps. The Carol Burnett release came
out on Columbia, arranged by Peter Matz. |
